Do you not remember how Jabotinsky traveled throughout Europe in the 1920s and early 1930s, urging Jews to flee the oncoming danger of Nazism, even though Hitler had not yet succeeded in seizing power? Have you forgotten the courage of your good father, who as the editor of a Zionist Revisionist newspaper worked tirelessly to spread Jabotinsky’s message?

Jabotinsky was condemned by the mentally blind Jewish leaders of his day (the people whose mistakes you are repeating). They vehemently attacked him for warning the Jews of Poland and of democratic France, democratic Germany and democratic Czechoslovakia that the Nazis would soon come to power and attempt to exterminate the Jews.

Jabotinsky formulated a plan to evacuate our people from Europe and bring as many as possible to pre-state Israel. He made speeches and held press conferences-with the help of good men like your father-saying to the Jews of Europe: “Liquidate the Galut (exile) before it liquidates Jews. Go to Israel!" Jabotinsky and men like your father were called "alarmist" at the time--just as you today call the government of Israel alarmist for advising the Jews of France, where violent anti-Semitism is on the rise, to move to Israel.

You are making the same mistake as the delusional Nachum Goldman, who said in 1932 when he was the head of the World Jewish Congress: “The German people will never vote Hitler to be their leader; there is no danger." Well, one year later Goldman was proven wrong, and Jabotinsky right. Hitler was democratically elected to power, and many Jews who could have been evacuated but weren’t ended up in Auschwitz.

The blood of every one of those innocent Jews rests on Nachum Goldman’s head and on the heads of other Jewish Establishment leaders of the 1930s. It was their cowardice and apathy-their unwillingness to acknowledge the danger and launch an emergency evacuation of the Jews-that gave Hitler time to organize the murder of six million and the torment of millions more.

You have betrayed not only the Betar movement that you belonged to in your youth, but the entire Jewish people, Foxman. Foxman, you sold out Jonathan Pollard when instead of making a real campaign to win him a presidential pardon from then President Clinton, you arranged a pardon for your "friend" Marc Rich who only by coincidence gave a $250,000 contribution to the ADL. Prior to that, when you were asked why the ADL wouldn’t help Pollard your lying answer was “there is no anti-Semitism involved so we can’t touch it." In fact, Pollard got a disproportionate sentence compared to others who have been involved in spying; indeed, his sentence for passing information to a staunch U.S. ally was harsher than that given to individuals who spied for the Soviet Union! How is this double standard not a manifestation of anti-Semitism?

Tell us, "O Dishonest Abe," where was the anti-Semitism in the prosecution of Rich, a cheap common white-collar swindler? What incentive caused you to fly all over the world helping this con man, when you wouldn’t lift a finger for Jewish hero Pollard?

Now finally the consequences of your corrupt deal with Rich have become public. The entire world knows that Rich, after you arranged his pardon on fraudulent “humanitarian” grounds, went to work for Arab Hitler Saddam Hussein to arrange oil for weapons deals by way of the U.N. that resulted in billions of dollars of illegal money flowing into Hussein’s coffers. That money was used to fund terror attacks against Israel and to buy weapons for Hussein’s Baathist regime to use against the United States. Israeli citizens and soldiers died because of Rich’s activities. American soldiers in Iraq are dying and being maimed because of Rich’s activities.

Foxman, you cannot evade your personal responsibility for making all this possible. What were you paid by Rich? We know that he paid your travel expenses to arrange his pardon. We know that he made a large donation to the ADL. But what did you receive personally, Foxman? We DEMAND that you disclose any and all monies you obtained from Rich before and after his pardon, and any and all monies you may have received pursuant to Rich’s corrupt oil for weapons deals. We DEMAND that you take the quarter million dollars the ADL received from Rich and turn it over to the U.S. and Israeli armed forces to buy body armor for their troops. The ADL should not keep a penny of Rich’s blood money when brave soldiers are fighting and dying in the war on terror to keep our two great democracies free.

Foxman, you abandoned the Jews in Crown Heights during the pogrom, and for that alone you should have been sacked. You attacked the Holocaust survivors seeking compensation from the Germans for uncompensated work in the slave-labor camps during the war, suggesting that these survivors care only about money, and for that too you should have been fired. You abandoned or undermined the fight against Farrakhan, the fight against Sharpton, the fight against David Duke, the fight against Lyndon LaRouche. You virtually abolished the ADL’s Fact Finding Division, long the first line of defense for American Jews. You even wrote an introduction to a new edition of Hitler’s Mein Kampf rather than fighting to ban such an edition. For these betrayals, too, you should have been removed from office. Unfortunately for the Jewish community, you have a spineless board of directors composed of weak-minded sycophants.

As you well know, Foxman, any individuals of integrity on the ADL board (or on the National Commission) left at the time of the Rich pardon. You have rewarded those who remain with lies and intimidation tactics, treating them simply as cows to be milked for their money.

Foxman, you have become a con man and petty dictator who won’t allow any dissent in your organization even though you preach "tolerance" and “understanding” to everyone else. Have you conveniently forgotten how you fired Jerry Himmelstein, the Louisiana ADL director, for daring to question what you did in the Rich affair? Have you forgotten how you arbitrarily expelled two board members in Texas for disagreeing with you? Have you forgotten how you cursed out certain top contributors for daring to ask what was going on during the Rich scandal?

You have long regarded yourself as invulnerable, Foxman. It is true that you have a huge salary and fancy benefits. It is true that you get invitations to cocktail parties with powerful gentiles. It is true that you are able to festoon ADL literature with pictures of yourself as if you were the dictator of North Korea. It is true that you have manipulated wealthy contributors by telling them what they want to hear, not what you really believe. It is true that you have been able to use the ADL’s prestige built up under previous national directors to deflect criminal investigation of your involvement in Rich’s pardon.

Fortunately, as an HONEST Abe (Abraham Lincoln) once said, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” The Rich scandal has caused the Jewish community to wake up at last. The mirror tricks by which you have maintained control of the ADL are becoming less and less effective with every passing day. The hour is drawing near when even the most weak-minded of your board members will gain the courage to stand up and say: “Abe, we can no longer countenance your corruption--and we are no longer willing to help you evade investigation for your role in the Rich pardon. In response to the more recent scandal on Marc Rich "Oil for Guns " scandal one thing was unfortunately missing. Both ABC News and the New York Post have reported that investigations of the United Nations oil-for-food scandal have turned up a new lead: Marc Rich, the fugitive billionaire whom President Clinton mysteriously pardoned as one of his final acts in office.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in New York and Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau both apparently suspect Mr. Rich of making illegal payments to Iraq in exchange for oil contracts that were resold on the spot market for an instant profit. If such payments were made, they shouldn't surprise anyone. The House Government Reform Committee, which investigated Mr. Clinton's pardon, reported that Mr. Rich had frequently done business with Saddam Hussein's regime and that these dalliances were known to the U.S. government at the time of the 2001 pardon. "Rich and [partner Pincus] Green have had extensive trade with terrorist states and other enemies of the United States. Despite clear legal restrictions on such trade, Rich and Green have engaged in commodities trading with Iraq, Iran, Cuba and other rogue states that have sponsored terrorist acts," the committee's final report noted.

Blogger Mickey Kaus of Slate.com writes that the latest revelations should reopen questions about why the Rich pardon was granted, despite strenuous objections by Mr. Clinton's top aides. Among the unanswered questions are the role of Denise Rich, Mr. Rich's ex-wife, who was a major contributor to both the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton Presidential Library. Noting Ms. Rich's connections with the White House, a team of lawyers for her husband at the time suggested that she be sent on a "personal mission" to Mr. Clinton "with a well-prepared script." The Rich pardon, former FBI Director Louis Freeh later told me, was "the most inexplicable thing I've ever seen a president do."

Perhaps now is the time to get some answers as the $21 billion oil-for-food scandal continues to metastasize.

Jewish Leaders' Unpardonable Role

In recent days, at least one Bill Clinton operative has been calling journalists with a message: The ex-President didn't really want to pardon Marc Rich. The Israelis or the Mossad or the Jews made him do it. This is nonsense. Clinton pardoned Rich for his own benefit. But the effort of Rich's strategists to turn their client into a modern-day Alfred Dreyfus - with the active connivance of some of the world's most prominent Jewish personalities and institutions - is a scandal in its own right.

In last week's congressional probe into the Rich affair, Abraham Foxman's name came up. He was mentioned in internal memos of the Free Marc Rich team as a man who could be helpful. "Who is he?" asked Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.). "He's a senior official of some American Jewish organization," said Rich lawyer Jack Quinn. "I'm not sure which one." Foxman is the national director of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, America's most prestigious Jewish group. He wrote an official ADL letter to Clinton, asking him to pardon Rich. I called the ADL to ask why its director had intervened with the President of the United States on behalf of a master swindler and member in good standing of the FBI's most wanted list. "Humanitarian reasons," a spokeswoman told me. What possible humanitarian reason, I wondered, could there be to pardon a billionaire who lives in a Swiss castle and flies around the world in his own jet? And what did a crook like Rich have to do with the ADL? The spokeswoman had no further comment.

Foxman's not alone. Led by a Tel Aviv-based former Mossad agent named Avner Azulay, the Rich team put together a Jewish who's who of supporters. They got their client character references from famous rabbis like Shlomo Riskin; from Rabbi Irving Greenberg, chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council; from the chief rabbi of France; from the directors of a half-dozen Israeli hospitals, and from Marlene Post, former head of Hadassah.

Rich also received active support from former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres; Knesset Speaker Avraham Burg; Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami; ex-Ambassador to Washington Itamar Rabinovich; former Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek; the current mayor, Ehud Olmert, and dozens of other Israeli politicians. Worst of all, Prime Minister Ehud Barak called Clinton and asked him to pardon Rich.

According to ex-Mossad chief Shabtai Shavit, another letter writer, such enthusiastic endorsements were the product of gratitude. Shavit claims Rich used his influence in the Middle East to attempt to recover Israeli MIAs and to assist "Jewish communities in distress." This is unverifiable and meaningless.

Sure, Rich has traded favors with the Mossad. Like other freebooters (the late Armand Hammer comes to mind), he deals with everyone and plays all sides against the middle. If he didn't bring testimonials from Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and the Iranian ayatollahs, it's not because they aren't on speaking terms.

Because the notion of Rich as an Israeli patriot is so obviously laughable, Barak has let it be known through emissaries in the U.S. that he intervened with Clinton because of Rich's philanthropy. This is a confession, not an explanation; it simply means that Rich bought influence.

There is another, even less charitable, possibility. Barak, like most of Rich's Israeli supporters, belongs to the Labor Party. Rich's ex-wife Denise famously gave Clinton and the Democrats more than $1 million. Barak's campaign finances from the 1999 election are now under criminal investigation. It may not be too long before we find out the going price for an Israeli prime minister.

As for Foxman, Greenberg and the other so-called American Jewish leaders, they prostituted themselves and their organizations for a rich criminal. They and the other "leaders" who stand by silently now are guilty of a terrible abuse of trust.

Re "Jewish Group to Honor Friend It Calls 'Flawed' " (news article, Sept. 19):

On Tuesday, the Anti-Defamation League plans to hold a dinner for Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy to present him with its Distinguished Statesman Award. This is shocking to anyone who knows Mr. Berlusconi's controversial history.

Most recently, Mr. Berlusconi was in the news for his comments about Benito Mussolini. "That was a much more benign dictatorship," Mr. Berlusconi was quoted as saying. "Mussolini did not murder anyone. Mussolini sent people on holiday to internal exile."

This is not true; Mussolini was responsible for the deaths of many political opponents, Partisans and Jews. He persecuted Jews with his racial laws and, during World War II, was responsible for the deportation of almost 7,000 Jews, who died in Nazi camps.

Mr. Berlusconi has apologized to Italian Jews for his statements. This is not enough; he has not apologized to Italians generally.

Apparently, the A.D.L. is giving Mr. Berlusconi its award because of his support of Israel and of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. But support of Israel should not be sufficient. In this case, it is bad for the Jews, bad for Italy, bad for the United States and even bad for Israel.

Abraham Foxman, national director of the ADL, said Fulani remained “a radical extremist” despite her recent, more reserved public persona.

When a Jewish CIA employee complained about bias against him Foxman would not let the ADL help him. Shortly thereafter, George Tenant, Director, Central Intelligence, appeared at a diner for Foxman. Foxman has stated that Jew-killer Arafat deserves the Nobel Peace Prize and according to Mordachai Levy,has met with Arafat on the Sabbath.

It is obvious from facts like Rennisance Records selling $750,000 worth of hate music a year that the nazis are on the rise in America. However, Foxman issues reports which state that nazism is on the decline. Why is this? Because if Foxman said that nazism was on the rise in America it would appear that he wasn't doing his job and did not deserve the $300,000 plus perks he is paid each year. Foxman claims that the fact he is mentioned on numerous nazi websites indicates that the nazis hate him, however, on closer examination we find that what they hate is the old ADL, before Foxman took over. So Foxman has a vested interest in under playing anti-Semitism. Foxman also believes in dialoging with nazis - how can one reason with another person who is intent on killing you? He has taken Al Sharpton, who led a pogrom in Crown Heights, under his wing. How soon will it be before he meets with Farrakhan? Foxman is a holocaust survivor - he was hidden by a Christain family, baptized and escaped death that way, through no bravery or courage of his own, and he uses his status as a survivor to accumulate vast amounts of wealth and influence. How can Jews not trust a man who experienced Nazi horrors first hand? Foxman, whether he knows it or not, is like the "poverty p-imps" of the 1970's only "FOXMAN IS HOLOCAUST P-MP" who profits from the existence of anti-semitism without taking very much risk, since he has body guards, and lives in a compound in New Jersey, and never goes to demonstrations against anti-semites, never gets off that fat tush of his to act. Despite Abe's making big bucks, when it comes to holocaust survivors getting a fraction what is due them, Abe whistles another tune. On SIXTY MINUTES Dishonest Abe had the audacity to say that he was against reparations for slave laborers because it fanned the flames of anti-semitism by making Jews look money hungry (lookwho's talking). In other words, anti-semitism was a Jewish problem, and if theJews would only get their acts together, and not be a bunch of hooked nose money grubbing kikes, then anti-semitism would disappear from the Christian soul.

How does Foxman answer these charges? By including this website in the ADL's HATE FILTER as a hate group and blocking his supporters from seeing it. But when it comes to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion being carried by Barnes and Noble, does he call for a boycott of Barnesand Noble until the book is taken off the shelves? No. Instead he writes a disclaimer to the book. Well, all this does is give the Protocols more authenticity because when a potential anti-semite, or anti-semite, sees this,they will only think that it is part of the conspiracy to supress the truth,because the ADL leadership are probably members of the Elders themselves. Every week, Foxman does something more and more pathetic. Selling out Holocaust survivors on 60 Minutes, saying they should not sue for their (rightful) money. The fact is only a group like JDO would have the vision to foresee Foxman's latest folly.The folly? Coming to defend Austria as well as downplay the fact Haider is a Nazi. The Holocaust caused immense suffering, not only in those who suffered from it directly, but in the offspring of Holocaust survivors. Abe Foxman was hidden by righteous gentiles who raised him as a Christian during the years of extermination, however, the folks who adopted him didn't want to give him up after the war and he was the subject of much litigation. This caused Foxman to become "sick in the head" or, as we say in Yiddish, meshuga. Recently he stated that if Holocaust survivors who were used as forced laborers collected backwages, it would "fan the flames anti-Semitism" throughout the world. This implies that anti-Semitism is a Jewish problem, and if the Jews only behaved, and weren't so greedy and money grubbing, anti-Semitism would disappear. Dishonest Abe is a sickness. He makes three hundred thousand dollars a year and he begrudges these former slave laborers their back wages!!!!

The JDO website contains information on Foxman and how he has single handedly destroyedthe ADL, so in retaliation, he had the JDO listed as a hatesite by theADL because of "intolerance" and put on their "filtered websites" list.

One of the reasons the Germans were so successful in exterminating Jews was because of Jewish leaders like Abe Foxman who would sell Jews out to the nazis in a heartbeat. Anyway it was reported in this week's edition of the Forward that Foxman's ADL has come up with a whole new way to punish neo-naziskinheads who desecrate synagogouges. Don't put the poor dangerous Jew-Hating nazis in jail. No! Instead, make them go to class where they can study about Jews ! (sic)

The ADL is pathetic under this fools leadership. Skinheads belong in jail, and when they desecrate our synagouges we must throw away the key. To really get a taste of the absurd, we will quote from the article verbatim and then let your friends know that as long as Dishonest Abe is running this comedy show don't waste your money!

And now comes the punch line from one of Foxman's local puppets when the article goes on to quote "this is rehabilitative justice" said ADL Civil Rights Director Harlan Loeb. More foolishness from Loeb "young hate offenders tend to be decent kids who have gone astray" says our local appeaser of the Midwest ADL office.

So there for all the Jews who want to know what to call this act of selling us out? Let's call it what it is, appeasement, and the chief appeaser is none other than the ever bowing and scraping to anti-semites, chief coward Abe Foxman. Now,what should an self-respecting Jewish organization do? First pack the courtroom and demand jail time serious jail time for those who swastika Jewish cemeteries, and vandalize synagoguges. No "deals" by our collection of paycheck collectors thatwork for Foxman and refuse to take a stand against the virtual absolving of a group of violent skinhead nazis, who will only be encouraged, and will encourage theirother Neo-Nazi cohorts that if you attack Jews and wreck the tombstones you have nothing to fear, as the "ever forgiving Jews"will "ruthlessly punish" you by making you sit through some boring ADL class on Jewish History. It is this mindset that must be turned around, and we must guard Jewish cemeteries ourselves G-D willing, and if one of our JDO Security Team squads catches anyone desecrating any Jewish cemetary they will be taught a real lesson in "JEWISH JUSTICE". In fact I remember one of our groups patrolling that stopped a gang of Jew-Hating punks that had decided they were going to attack Washington Cemetary several years ago. The "lesson of Jewish Power" Thank G-D was taught with chins, bats and a few other tools of Jewish self-defense and you can be sure of one thing. The lesson embedded inthose anti-semitic punks was strong enough they will think a hundred times before touching a Jewish cemetary, that those who touch a Jewish cemetary will be buried there. This, and not the clown show that Foxman's has been running is the only way to protect Jewish synagoguges and Jewish cemetaries. Now let us hope young and even older Jews will join the JDO Security Team and help protect ourselves. As for educational classes it seems to be the ADL leadership, in what is Jewish Pride, and standing strong, and not weak.

Just when you think that the "coward in chief" Abe Foxman has just sunk to the lowest level of selling Jews out like when he denied Khallid Muhammed is a Black Hitler, Foxman comes up with yet another example of belly crawling, that makes the last example of selling us out look like childs play.

The latest antic of the head of the Against Demonstrating League? Goingon the national show "60 Minutes" to condemn the attempts by Holocaust survivors to get their legitimate money from companies that had them do slave labor, as such a struggle would "create anti-semitism". Fairly outrageous statement from someone like Foxman who makes a fortune doing nothing !! Those Holocaust survivors who were enslaved by the likes of Volkswagon are only fighting for what is theirs, and Foxman being a spineless appeaser by nature is only too happyto sell them out as well as the memory of 6 Million Jews.

Several years ago when Jewish Militants confronted Foxman over his defense, and support, for Dinkins after the Crown Heights Pogromthat Foxman sat and did nothing about, forced from Foxman's mouth, right inpublic at a speech at Columbia University that he is not "accountable tothe Jewish People, just to his contributors". Indeed Foxman's Board is made up of mindless "yes men" who will never stand up to Foxman's ever growing list of backstabbing Jews because of his own cowardice.

ON THE CLIFF ON THE EDGE OF DISASTER

Jews love movies, watching them, and being critical of them. Some Jews, can even goand see a movie,the same movie 2 or 3 times, although I don't count myself amongst them. Sometimes, after repeatedly watching different movies produced and created by the same talented personalities you can almost predict the outcome without seeing the full flick. Often, if not always, you know what kind of ending that motion picture writer will cause. You can almost predict the ending before it happens, as you know in movies whenever a group of well armed bandits walk into a bank, they are going to rob it.Now Jews, good at predicting movie endings, can't seem to read the real life danger signs daily in most American newspapers predicting their own demise. The everyday warnings from a once small Black Hitler named Farrakhan, planning yet another Million Man March against the Jews, and this time in New York. The cowardly statements by the Uncle Jake Jewish organizations groups like the American Jewish Committee and National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council, whose "president" praised the "message of the Million Man March! " (sic) fit better into a Vaudville act. Imagine Jewish groups and their myopicexcuses for "leaders" taking comfort in the fact that the Hitler in Black skin "only"had 500,000 at his outdoor Nuremberg style rally against Jews, down in D.C. 2 years ago.

The script though gets even worse, and even as the neo-nazi militia types do bombing attacks and even get caught planning to blow up synagogues, our typically Jewish groups refuse to hold any protest marches calling for a government crackdown on these groups, or to tell American Jews they must arm to defend themselves and set up our -own response to the highly dangerous white supremacist militias, namely Jewish gun clubs across America. No, our "comedy writers", men like Abe Foxman, of the Against Demonstrating League, insist that "rallies are for 14 year olds" and that Jews do not need to physically defend themselves. Well, isn't that nice coming from Foxman who uses an armed private security force to protect his life? What hypocrisy, and after all the numerous bombings of synagoguges, swastika daubings, Crown Heights Pogrom, Massacre at Freddy's in Harlem all of which his ADL carefully, no, meticulously, documents in their well crammed file cabinets.Why isn't Foxman in the forefront of telling Jews to G-D willing set up their own self-defense teams? Is he afraid of "what will the Goyim say ?"

A PURIM SHPIEL (STORY) WORTH REMEMBERING

One of my favorite holidays is coming up, Purim, and its not simply because its a true story of the Jews repenting to G-D, then going to battle against their enemies. That is reason enough for any serious Jewish militant, who believes in the obligation of Jews to form self-defense units and go to war with our modern day Hamans, whether they have names like Saddam, Arafat, Metzger or Farrakhan.

No, as important as those reasons are I have found one totally independent one that will amaze many Jews. When I went to Yeshiva every year they would have a Purim Play, and different yeshiva bochurim would act out different parts. They would often dress exactly the opposite than they normally would. Yeshiva students with the shortest of haicuts would put on long haired wigs and act out being somebody else. They would tell jokes, laugh, drink a little, or in some cases a little more than a little, all in an effort to fulfill the obligation on Purim "Vnhapach Hu," everything on Purim is reversed. Haman, who had planned to hang Mordehcai and exterminate the Jew by a G-D done miracle, ended up hung himself, on the very tree heprepared for the Jews. So to dramatize this great miracle, Jews do things opposite of what they normally do. Jews normally don't drink alot, on Purim they do the opposite.

Now after thinking about it, a strange thought occured. I have complete confidence that on Purim our Jewish establishment leaders, men like Abe Foxman,will come down from their sleek Against Demonstrating League offices, and lead rallies full charge right at the United Nations one block away, to demand serious action against Arab Nazi Saddam Haman Hussein. I can see it now as David Harris, of the American Jewish Clown show, meets on Purim with the Crown Heights Jews he forgot long ago,to plan strategy about rallies, and demonstrations, the day of the sentencing of Lemrick Neslon murderer of Yankel Rosenbaum A'H.

Purim this year should see Lawrence Rubin of NJCRAC, now Jewish Public Affairs Council, going on a lightening speaking tour to muster support for a major march on the White House to demand that Pollard be freed immediately,and naming Pollard as the Jewish hero and Prisoner of Zion that he is.

Not to be outdone the American Jewish Congress begins packing courtrooms anytime a Jew is a victim of anti-semitic assault. This Purim even UJA gets into the act by helping with grants for the settlers of Judea and Samaria,and Stephen Solender poses in pictures with Rabbi Levinger of Gush Emunim,and makes it clear no Jew will be abandoned by UJA, and that Yeshiva and Torah education will be the new priority in the states. Additionally he fires the head of the 92 Street Y for bringing Ron Kuby to speak about why Arab terrorist attacks are alright in the USA. Its almost like Purim has turned a group of absolute do nothings into action taking Jewish nationalists who will go to any lengths to defend Jews in Israel and righ there.

Suddenly I realize that I have been daydreaming, and my visions of Rabbi Sheer of Columbia leading massive rallies against Farrakhan ever stepping foot in Columbia, are just in the spirit of Vnehapach Hu, that on Purim we make things the opposite of what they are. Then I asked myself, is the JDO goal of pushing every Jewish student group to march against Saddam Hussein and Arafat on their own campuses a Purim gag ? Or will we truly wake up the Jewish youth, who are less set in their foolishness and apathy, and whose idealism can be fired up to make them storm the barricades, on Purim or 364 other days a year for their fellow Jews, and Israel.

The 12th annual salary survey by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, published Oct. 2, showed Stephen Solender, president emeritus of the United Jewish Communities federation umbrella, topping the list of Jewish professionals with an annual salary of $450,417, not including benefits. The highest-paid federation leader was Robert Aronson, of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, who earned $380,940, plus benefits. Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center of Los Angeles, earned $449,836 plus benefits. Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, made $357,375, plus benefits. Mark Levy, national Director, Jewish Defense Organization $000,000. Leaders of 235 major Jewish and non-Jewish non-profits participated in the survey.

As prime minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi has stirred squalls of criticism with his flamboyant statements - that a German legislator was like a Nazi commandant, that Islamic culture was inferior to Western culture and, most recently, that Benito Mussolini "did not murder anyone."

The last comment raised an uproar in Italy last week, given that Mussolini's Fascist regime helped the Nazis deport more than 7,000 Jews, killed political opponents and waged campaigns of conquest that left hundreds of thousands of people dead.

But Mr. Berlusconi has at least one loyal defender in New York City. Yesterday, Abraham H. Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, dismissed the criticism of the prime minister and said he had no second thoughts about bestowing an honor on him.

On Tuesday, the league plans to give Mr. Berlusconi its Distinguished Statesman Award at a gala fund-raising dinner at the Plaza Hotel. Henry Kissinger, Rupert Murdoch and Mortimer Zuckerman are on the dinner committee.

"He's a solid friend, but he's a flawed friend," Mr. Foxman said. "I wish he didn't say it. It was inappropriate, it was uninformed. That's not enough for me to say he's no longer a friend." Mr. Berlusconi's vocal support for Israel, for the American war in Iraq and for antiterrorism efforts made him worthy, Mr. Foxman said.

Other Jewish leaders suggested that a deep sense of worry about Israel, during a time of increased violence there, makes it easier to overlook flaws in the search for friends.

Without commenting specifically on Mr. Berlusconi's award, Jason Isaacson, the American Jewish Committee's director for government and international affairs, said: "World leaders who are seen as sympathetic to Israel are much prized. That solidarity earns rewards from the Jewish community."

The invitation was extended a year ago, Mr. Foxman said, long before Mr. Berlusconi's comments appeared in The Spectator, a British magazine, and La Voce di Rimini, a small Italian newspaper. Two journalists from The Spectator, one of whom also writes for La Voce, had interviewed Mr. Berlusconi at his vacation home in Sardinia.

They asked him whether the regime of Saddam Hussein could be compared to the Italian Fascist dictatorship. "That was a much more benign dictatorship," Mr. Berlusconi was quoted as saying. "Mussolini did not murder anyone. Mussolini sent people on holiday to internal exile."

A furor ensued, some of it generated by political opponents of Mr. Berlusconi, who is Italy's richest man, the owner of three television channels and master of the three state channels. He is also the frequent target of corruption prosecutors, whom he called "mentally disturbed" in the same interview.

Mr. Berlusconi later said he was simply refusing to accept the validity of any comparison between Mr. Hussein and Mussolini. He met with Italian Jewish leaders in an effort to mend relations, though some said they were not satisfied.

Tullia Zevi, a former leader of Italy's Union of Jewish Communities and one of the country's more respected public figures, said she had asked Mr. Foxman several days ago to rescind the award.

"He said Fascism was a very mild dictatorship!" Ms. Zevi said in a telephone interview from Rome. "It was so `mild' there were many political murders from the very beginning, and also for the Jews."

She said Mr. Foxman told her he wanted to pay homage to a man who was supporting an increasingly isolated American president.

"The feelings of a community that has been established here for 2,000 years have the right to be respected," said Ms. Zevi, whose family fled Italy when anti-Jewish laws were imposed in 1938. About 25,000 to 30,000 Jews live in Italy now.

Mr. Foxman said Mr. Berlusconi's support for Israel was particularly important because of what is perceived as increasing hostility in Europe. Mr. Berlusconi, who has the added platform of Italy's presidency of the European Union, has said publicly that he sees Israel as having a potential role in the union.

Mr. Berlusconi has a sometimes hostile relationship with the leaders of France and Germany and seems to relish taking positions at odds with them. In June, he went to the Middle East and met with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, but shunned Yasir Arafat. French officials criticized him for that. His response was that France had "lost an opportunity to keep quiet," evoking the line that President Jacques Chirac had used against Central and Eastern European countries that supported United States strategy toward Iraq.

ASSICURAZIONI GENERALI IN BED WITH FOXMAN

FROM THE APRIL 8, 2003 issue of the New York Times. Scraping by on relief agency handouts, Mr. Weiss, his sister and three brothers, who had also survived concentration camps, remembered that their father, who was killed at Auschwitz, had taken out a life insurance policy from a big Italian company, Assicurazioni Generali. In the late summer of 1945, they contacted the insurance company. But when they could not produce a death certificate or policy, they were turned away.

"Of course you couldn't get a death certificate from Auschwitz," said Mr. Weiss, who is now 75 and living in Toronto and Los Angeles. "And how could we have the policy? They took everything from us when they took us away. The company gave us the runaround, and after a while we just gave up."

Now, nearly 60 years later, Mr. Weiss, a retired watchmaker, is again trying to have Generali pay the old claim. He and seven other Holocaust survivors have filed a suit against Generali for the value of their policies, which their lawyer, William M. Shernoff, estimates may now be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each, perhaps even millions of dollars, with punitive damages included.

Abe Foxman of the ADL was the first to say the legacy of the Holocaust should not be about money when he appeared on Sixty Minutes. So why did his Anti Demonstration League accept a $100,000 gift last year from the Italian insurance giant Assicurazioni Generali without fanfare, and in the midst of Generali's negotiations with survivors seeking compensation for life insurance policies it has refused to pay? And why did the ADL, which released a statement praising Generali when it agreed to a $100 million settlement with survivors,remain mum when the company withdrew it?

Those questions were raised after an Israeli business publication, Globes,reported the $100,000 gift." If anybody thinks we can be bought for $100,000, that's pretty sad," says Foxman. Well just how much would it take to buy the ADL? How much would Foxman take to sell out Jewish lives?

Dishonest Abe adds that he wished Generali had not withdrawn the offer. He says the ADL accepted the $100,000 because "when Generali came to us and said it wanted to repair the past, was there anything it could do with us, I said, "Since you are Italian,I'd like to focus on honoring Italians who stood up against nazism and hatred. If you want to fund our: educational Programs dedicated to that, I'd be delighted."

Generali maintains that it has no more than 100,000 unpaid policies that could have belonged to Holocaust victims. However, officials at Israel's Holocaust memorial museum, Yad Ashem, reportedly believe that figure is low, based upon records Generali has provided. Generali has said it would cooperate in an independent review of its pre World War II files and contribute to a humanitarian fund for survivors.

In fact the quotes above reflect two lies that Foxman is trying to sell: That Jews do not need to defend themselves because they have not been targeted. Further, the second lie is that Jews can sit back and rely on law enforcement. This is contradicted daily by Foxman's own hypocritical behavior. First the ADL building has armed paid guards. They do not rely on the police but to protect their building and higher ups, but have hired armed guards. Further Foxman the fraud has his own armed bodyguards. They are not "police" but hired guards. Now how come hypocrite Foxman, and his other ADL leaders are not willing to put their lives in he hands of the police, and dial 911 if there is an attack? Like Foxman tells other Jews to do, let this Jewish Charity dollars made millionaire practice what he preaches. Of course in his own eyes his life is worth more than that of 6 million other Jews living on America, who can't afford to pay thousands of dollars a week for armed guards to protect their synagogues and homes from groups pledged to slaughter them. This reminds us of how in Hollywood a number of entertainers claim to support banning guns, and think no one not even a shopkeeper needs a legal gun license to protect their store. But sometimes the names of these actors and entertainers who preach gun control for everyone else makes the tabloids, and it is exposed that through "connections" they managed to skim of a concealed weapons permit for themselves. Maybe Foxman, learned acting from them because this ever-deceitful man is one heck of an actor.

FOXMAN IS A FAILURE

Abe Foxman, who prevented Jews from putting up Menorahs on public property, has come out against the General Motors Corporation from sponsoring a Christian Rock Tour. "They have the right to do it, but I'm a little uncomfortable with a major commercial venture going into propagating religion." In a phone interview from Jerusalem, he added, "Evangelical Christians believe they have the truth, so are they selling a product because it's G-d's product? I find it troubling." These people are not missionaries - they are not trying to convert Jews - and they have the right to practice their religion without Foxman's complaints. It this petty stuff the ADL concentrates on - while downplaying domestic Nazis.

Jews are more vulnerable to anti-Semitism today than at any time since World War II, Anti-Defamation League national director Abe Foxman said Monday. "I did not believe in my lifetime that I or we would be preoccupied on the level that we are, or the intensity of anti-Semitism that we are experiencing," he said. "The increased level of anti-Semitism continues to be the main item on the agenda of the ADL." The most alarming danger today, said Foxman, comes from Muslim anti-Semitism, which is more intense and more violent, tied to the political conflict in the Middle East. Foxman cited the issue of Holocaust denial, which he said took 40 years to develop into a perverted pseudo-philosophy.

Although Mr Lehrer is someone who JDO has surely disagreed with at times, Lehrer took the neo-nazis very seriously and joined the ADL to fight anti-semitism. He, unlike Foxman, has an open mind and took personal charge to make sure that the nazis were monitored and opposed.

Mr Lehrer at one time encouraged Jewish students to hold peaceful rallies (lawful and legal) against anti-Israel groups on various campuses in the West Coast. However, Foxman fired him. Foxman cannot tolerate dissent. It's time that all the members of the ADL National Commission realize they are only useful for Foxman as a way to get money. Those board members who disagree usually get driven out of that once good organization. Today the ADL, even after the Rich scandal - that Foxman was central to - have yet to fire him. Foxman was paid to help Rich, took a large contribution from him, and abandoned Jonathan Pollard Prisoner of Zion.

All this speaks for itself, e mail JDO your statements on Foxman needing to be fired.

It will be forwarded to the members of Foxman's useless board, those men and women we call "Abe's Puppets". All in all Foxman has transformed the ADL from a Civil Rights organization to a lobbyist special interests group!
